Shots - Ugh!
Today I got my DTaP since I was overdue for a tetanus shot, and I also got a Hepatitis B vaccination. I hate shots!
Paperwork Received
At 5:30 pm this evening we received all the official paperwork for our new son! We are going to rush to get everything notarized. Megan said she couldn't promise anything, but she's hopeful that Ato Teklu may be able to quickly file the paperwork with the courts, and it will be possible that we won't be required to make two trips. That would be amazing, but I'm not holding my breath.

We contacted Megan today and told her we definitely wanted to accept the referral! Megan sent all the paperwork to us today by UPS so we could sign everything and have it notarized. Then our acceptance is official!!

REFERRAL!!!!!
We got THE CALL from Megan today! He is a gorgeous, little 2 1/2 month old little boy who is currently at Ajuuja! After having to turn down several referrals, I think we were both a little hesitant to get too excited before we saw all the paperwork. After we got everything though, we knew without a doubt he was our son! We are going to look everything over and do some research on his lab results, but we are already 99.9% sure we will be accepting this referral! We are over the moon about adopting such a young infant!

Sigh
We called our caseworker today and officially turned down the referral. It was so hard because he really is a beautiful child, but he's already several pounds heavier and several inches taller than Ephraim, and we're definite that we don't want to adopt out of birth order. To make it worse, we found out that another family was offered a referral for an 18-month-old child on the same day as us, and he really was 18 months old. If the tables had been turned, that child would have been ours, and we'd now have our son. They were behind us on the waiting list, so that's a tough pill to swallow! I know our child is still out there waiting for us, but the wait is getting hard!

Referral
We got a call today about a referral for an 18-month-old little boy. We were so excited! We waited and waited for the information which came while the girls were at their gymnastics class. I read the information and knew immediately there was a problem. In the medical, three different times, the physician said that the estimated age was incorrect. The little guy already had his two-year-old molars, and his estimated age was several months over two years old. Ben called our caseworker and told her he wanted to look over the information when he got home from work, but he was pretty sure we'd be turning down the referral. We'd just wrapped our brains around upping our requested age from twelve months to eighteen months, and now we were considering a referral for a little boy who could could be as much as three years old. - sigh -
